Putting our choir in the frame!

When you are a well-known local choir, recognised for its virtuosity and versatility in providing outstanding musical experiences at home and abroad, its only right and proper that you help introduce your forthcoming 2023 programme by showing just how good you are.

Bath Camerata – founded back in 1986 to promote and present contemporary music – chose the Victoria Art Gallery for a vocal presentation of their combined skills.

They also launched a programme which includes them representing the city of Bath at this year’s Twinning Festival in Aix en Provence. On the 29th and 30th of April they will be joining choirs from Aix’s other twinned towns in a joint concert of light music, plus giving an acapella concert of their own.

Nearer home, the choir will be collaborating, for the first time, with the recently-revived Bath Festival Orchestra, under the baton of its conductor Peter Manning, in a performance of Mozart’s Requiem.

This concert , at Bath Abbey on May 13th, will be on the opening night of The Bath Festival and will also feature an extract from Marianna Martines’ Dixit Dominus, Bruckner’s Locus Iste and a number of orchestral works.
