Don’t get too excited, but it looks as if l may have stumbled upon the name that has been chosen for the new pedestrian/cycling crossing of the River Avon now open down at the Bath Quays business development site.
As l understand it, today (Thursday) a formal notice – apparently required by law – will go up on the bridge announcing the people’s choice!
Residents were asked to vote on a shortlist which included Bayer Bridge, Quays Bridge, Newark Bridge, Foundry Bridge and Craneworks Bridge.
And the winner – l am led to believe – is……….QUAYS BRIDGE!
I am a little disappointed Newark Bridge was not selected.
Seems we are are not so keen on recognising and promoting our Industrial History!
