Sorry if this is of little interest to those of you not living on the A46 side of Bath, but we were rather pleased to hear that once again a planning inspector has thrown out an appeal by developers to building houses on our wildlife corridor into Larkhall.

We are talking about a triangular piece of land between Deadmill Lane and Ferndale Drive upon which – in recent years – everything from luxury homes to affordable housing – has been proposed to get planning permission.
At least five applications later, and following two appeals, they have not succeeded. Apart from its environmental and ecological importance, this land sits between two highly dangerous minor rat-run roads with limited visibility.

Why oh why isn’t there a law which enables B&NES to reject any further applications to build – based on the refusal history. Those grounds for refusal do not go away. I just wish the developers would!
