Last week l was pleased to point out that the carved lettering for Old Bond Street had been refreshed, but what a shame nearby New Bond Street was hidden – behind paint – from view.

Well, the good news is, help is at hand. Ainslie Ensom, who is the Administrator for the Bath World Heritage Enhancement Fund, sent me the following email.
“You will be pleased to hear that the WHEF is just about to clarify the New Bond Street sign you mentioned last Friday.
A Listed Building Application has been registered for the next set of six signs to be conserved in the Fund’s rolling programme, of which this is one, at 22/05198/LBA.
We will be nearly up to seventy altogether once those are done!’
That’s amazing Ainslie and thank you for the update.
Thanks also to Jennifer Pack – who is a Political Research Assistant to the Liberal Democrat Group for adding to that information with a copy of the planning application that refers to these historic street signs which are about to get a makeover.
