Warm welcome

An invite from the University of Bath for local people to join staff and student volunteers for friendly and fun activities at its Dartmouth Avenue cabin in Oldfield Park.

Located a short walk from Moorland Road, Dartmouth Avenue is a community space for students off campus, giving them a central location for socialising and studying in a bright and comfortable atmosphere.

Now the University would like older local residents to be able to enjoy the space too over the winter months – welcoming people to enjoy a free soup lunch, hot drinks and an afternoon of music, craft, games and more, in its cosy cabin area, on Wednesdays from 12.30-4.30pm.

The Students’ Union will help to run activities, drawing on volunteers from its many student societies and clubs, to invite them to share their hobbies and skills with local people. University staff are also

volunteering.

“We are very much looking forward to welcoming people to our Dartmouth Road location to enjoy an afternoon’s activities in a warm and comfortable setting,” said Professor Phil Allmendinger, the University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor. “Our students really enjoy spending time at Dartmouth Avenue and we hope others will too. It’s a great opportunity to share skills, stories and time together.”
