Yesterday l showed the sorry state of the recently-restored Laura Place fountain which had stopped working and whose waters were turning brown.
This morning l saw a technician at work on an empty basin.
Seems a combination of a leak in piping used to circulate the water – and evaporation of the contents in the sizzling heat – had lowered the water to a level where the pump automatically switches off!
Yep, correct.. probably has a level switch to indicate the water level and save the pump ( motor) from burning out !
