Our new wildlife haven

Just a little shout out to the folks who have given their time to create ‘St Saviour’s Little Park’ in Larkhall.

It’s a little patch of grassland near the Lam Brook which used to house the Larkhall Spa – a natural mineral spring. Yes, we could take the waters too though these were cold l think rather than hot!

Councillors Joanna Wright and Rob Appleyard were instrumental in getting work going on the creation of a new habitat to attract and support wildlife and to give everyone better access to nature.

It’s one of many new projects B&NES has undertaken in light of the declaration of the Ecological Emergency to better improve the urban area for everyone and encourage natural growth and an increase in varied wildlife.

There’s an avenue of new trees, a pond, a bench and large stones for people to sit and enjoy being with nature.

Dogs are welcome but only under control!
