A taste of the sunshine to come ( hopefully) greeted members of the Mayor’s Guides for the launch of their special summer walks season.
The Mayor of Bath, Cllr June Player, joined some of the guides who’ll be leading 17 different FREE and themed walks in 80 sessions between now and the end of August.

Look forward to walks taking you to green parks and open spaces – plus a watery wander along the river and canal. Another free walk celebrated the life of Georgian architect John Pinch while stories of the destruction and preservation of 20th century Bath are also on offer..
Free walks will continue from now until the end of August – all led by an enthusiast from the Mayor of Bath’s Guides. Walks will run on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons and evenings. They last around two hours and can be booked online at www.bathguides.org.uk/booking.
“During the past two years – particularly during lockdowns – many of us explored parts of the city we’ve never walked around before,” said Andy Gilson, chairman of The Mayor of Bath’s Guides.
“This is a chance to find out for free a bit more about our fantastic city – who lived, loved and died here as well as how we came to have so many fascinating buildings and green spaces.”
The launch tied in with the 80th anniversary of the Bath Blitz and follows World Heritage Day.
