‘Driving along the Lower Bristol Road on Sunday I noticed how good Bayers building looked against a blue, cloudless sky.
Charles Bayer, a German emigre, built his Albion Stay factory in 1892, the first purpose-built corset factory in England. Lit by electric light, which had first been “switched on” in Bath by the city’s own electricity company on 24th June 1890.’
