I am hearing a partial re-opening of Cleveland Bridge – letting cars cross at least – is due during the half-term holidays.

The only solution to Bath’s chronic traffic problems is a flyover/spur across Bathampton meadows, linking the A36 and A4 just west of Bathford. There are some magnificent examples of such an enterprise in Italy and elsewhere on the continent. Bath City Council will have to bite on the bullet soon enough – and hopefully before the Cleveland Bridge starts to collapse (again).
