Lights up at American Museum

I know Christmas is still four months away but l couldn’t resist a chuckle when l glanced over a press release regarding the plans Bath’s American Museum and Gardens has for a ‘spectacular Christmas illumination trail.’

From December 9th through to New Years Eve ( but not 13th, 14th, 15th, 25th or 26th of the month) visitors will experience The Enchanted Garden of Light with the hillside dramatically lit as never before with a sparkling route winding throughout the gardens and parkland.

Tickets have gone on sale today and those who buy them are promised ‘an after-dark adventure through glittering displays that will emblazon the entire house, gardens, and woodland in glorious seasonal colour.

The hour-long trail has been designed in partnership with innovative lighting designers SLX and will include a series of captivating site-specific installations set to sound and music.

The Enchanted Garden of Light at the American Museum & Gardens will be the only event of its scale in the Bath area, with tickets priced competitively to ensure that it is accessible to as many families as possible.’

Now – why was l chuckling? Well – believe it or not – the museum’s marketing manager – who sent me this release – is called Amelia Christmas. A lovely name to be sure – at any time of the year.
