Life cycle

While others may have been pre-occupied in a mass Saturday assault on the High Street – and that’s good news for Bath business – one particular group of inner city visitors had a different mission on their minds this morning.

They were taking part in Bath’s first Kidical Mass Family bike ride to remind the local authority of its promise to make the streets safer for people who want to walk, scoot or cycle AND create more segregated cycle routes to encourage people to ditch their cars for short trips.

While people were gathering in Orange Grove, l had a chance to talk to one of the organisers.

A cycle past the Guildhall – and a reminder to B&NES about making streets safer for cyclists and pedestrians.

Along with fellow parents Tom Garstin and Wendy Zakiewicz, Saskia Heijltjes managed to persuade around 150 families to join today’s bike ride – complete with a chorus of bells!
