Bath’s MP, Wera Hobhouse, has warmly welcomed new grant money awarded to the Bath Philharmonia.
The grant, totalling £101,633, has been given as part of the second round of funding provided by the Government’s Cultural Recovery Fund.
During the first round of awards a diverse group of nine Bath-based organisations received a sum of £2207,302. These organisations included the Theatre Royal Bath, Holburne Museum, and the Bath Festivals.
Following the announcements about the new grant money going to the Bath Philharmonia, Wera Hobhouse said:
“I was delighted to learn about this further grant, going straight to another one of our loved and treasured community institutions. As lockdown starts to ease, we are all looking forward to enjoying the creativity of the city once again – from listening to the world-class concerts held by the Bath Philharmonia to seeing the wonderful work they do to support young carers.
This money will enable Bath Philharmonia to perform covid safe concerts when restrictions allow. I know this will bring a huge amount of joy to our community – who have gone for so long without live music and in isolation.”
