Yesterday was the funeral of an old friend and colleague from our HTV West days.
I can think of no better tribute to John Anthony Pearce-Bennett than to share with you two of our mid 1980’s televised adventures.
John was cameramen on our trips – via RAF Lyneham Transport Command in Wiltshire – to the Falkland Islands and to famine-stricken Ethiopia.
Completing the television trio was our soundman Tony Griggs who recently drew my attention to the fact that John had put the videos of our trips on YouTube.
This is a very personal reminder of the glory days of regional television and pays tribute to the skills and dedication of two colleagues l was proud to work alongside.
I am sure Tony joins me in seeing these episodes as a fitting tribute to John.
