‘Hi Rich’ said my good friend Georgette Mccready – ‘ It ain’t good old blues and rock and roll but we’re pretty excited about it.’
Georgette is the Public Relations Officer for Bath Festivals and couldn’t wait to tell me what the ‘IT’ was!
‘In these crazy times we at Bath Festivals have created a FREE online festival of live events and podcasts from authors for young people.
We already have 1,200+ school signed up for Reading is Magic Festival in B&NES, Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire and as far and wide as Manchester and Madrid, as well as New York, Hong Kong, Australia and Canada.
We would like to create a big buzz around the announcement and let as many schools and families know about it as possible! If you are able to support through Bath Newseum to share the news that be wonderful.
Well, for starters, have a look at this! https://youtu.be/l3j6xMMq3DY
The Reading is Magic Festival brings you an all-star line-up of authors and illustrators for six days of free digital events for schools and families from 27 September to 2 October.
Inspired by UK Waterstone’s Laureate Cressida Cowell’s key message “reading is magic and magic is for everyone” book festivals across the globe have teamed up to create an online festival so that young people don’t have to miss out on seeing their favourite authors and illustrators this year.
