Park road closure

The circular road running through Bath’s Royal Victoria Park is going to be closed to all vehicles over the next eight days while urgent road repairs are carried out.

Contractors will start resurfacing work on the western half of the private road in  Royal Victoria Park from tomorrow (Wednesday April 8).

There will be access for emergency vehicles only and people are being reminded they must not make unnecessary journeys in their cars to visit the park.

The council’s contractors are following strict protective measures to keep themselves and others safe while doing so and we urge people to respect social distancing guidelines and allow them to carry out their roles.

People are reminded that the park remains open only for limited exercise and that people must follow public health guidelines:

  • Don’t visit the park if you have symptoms of Covid 19 – stay at home and self isolate
  • Retain a 2m/6ft distance from other people at all times
  • Restrict your visit to one hour
  • Do not meet others, even friends or family. You can spread the virus even if you don’t have the symptoms
