Times have changed l know – and l could never return to the heady days of regional tv in the 1980’s – even if l wanted to.
However, it is interesting to see that there is a Facebook group that share images and videos – amongst their members – from the heady days of HTV West and Wales.

Recently that included a Christmas tape from 1987 – courtesy of Mr Lee Barnard. It is the sort of thing that the public is NOT meant to see but was an annual leg-pulling tradition – of dubious quality and content – for us insiders.

I have put it on Facebook to share with my friends but l have pulled a few images from it to share with you.
Amongst them the lovely Annie St John – still miss her too.

There’s Jeremy Payne who went off to Anglia and came back to end up as MD of the company!

There’s a younger me – of course – with REAL hair.

Don’t remember what caused the face pull.
Dear Alison (Holloway) and the late John Abrams with a suspect carrot in the studio potting shed. Ali now lives – with her husband and family – in America where she is a successful television producer.

Patricia Yorston reminding me of Jennifer Anniston in The Morning Show.

The suave Mr Graham Purches.

and the late Brian Izzard who directed our Friday night LIVE show – The Weekend Starts Here!

I suppose l had better apologise to those of my colleagues who might see this item. Once in the public eye – you are never completely out of it!
Brilliantly, brought back many memories.

I fondly remember them all, so long ago, part of our daily lives in those days! Wasn’t Graham Purches BBC & later moved to ITV he had followed after BBC Jeremy Carrad ? I can hear John Abrams voice, it was very laid back & leisurely.
Hi John. Graham started with us – went to the BBC – and then came back again!
