Ever wondered where one of our festive season entertainment favourites came about. The Arts Society Bath Lecture for December takes us into the magic world of pantomime. Oh yes it does!
Lecturer Ian Gledhill knows what he is talking about too – as he’s appeared in many panto productions – including one with Julian Clary.

‘THE MAGIC OF PANTOMIME’ will entertain you by discussing the history of this peculiarly British institution, from its origins in Italian Comedia dell’arte, through the influence of 19th century music hall, to the family shows that we see today.
Ian’s lecture is interspersed with personal anecdotes from the his years of working and appearing professionally in pantomime.
That’s on Monday 2nd December 2019 at The Assembly Rooms, Bennett Street, Bath.
Visitors Welcome £10 at the door, no booking needed.
