“One of the latest seriously sad town centre closures is that of the back street snack bar on the edge of Southgate and just off Manvers Street.
I’ve been going there ever since I moved to Bath in the 1980s. Serving plain, well-cooked English fayre – excellent tea and sausage sandwiches rivalled only by those at the caff in the Guildhall Market – it’s been a favourite spot for local workers and people killing time while waiting for buses and trains.
Now gone, like many other loved spots in a town changing – for the worse – beyond recognition.”
