The 20th Century Society – a national body that campaigns to safeguard British architecture from 1914 onwards – is joining a list of other bodies objecting to the B&NES proposal to demolish the Parkside Children’s Centre to make room for additional cars in the car park that surrounds it.
Writing to the local authority Grace Etherington says:
Bath and North East Somerset want to clear the Centre to make way for extra parking at the Charlotte Street car park to compensate for the demolition of the Avon Street park as part of the council’s regeneration project of Bath Quays North.
