Ex Bath mayor Bryan Chalker’s quest to raise the cash for a commemorative plaque to honour the city born lady rescued from the sinking Titanic has moved a step forward.
Edwina Troutt – who was born here in 1884 – was a second class passenger on board the ill fated liner when she struck an iceberg in 1912.
(See nearby story: Bath’s Titanic survivor makes her mark.)
The idea is to erect a plaque on the Apple store in Southgate but Bryan needs £600 to pay for the casting.
So far he’s raised £200 with the promise from a local business person to match donations up to £300! So another £100 will do it.
If you can help. I will put you in touch with Bryan.
