Hands on science.

An exciting list of events has been announced by The Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution with the launch of its new Youth Activities programme – under the stewardship of its new Community Learning and Engagement officer Alice Millard.

The Programme will provide a number of educational and hands on workshops for young people and families across Bath and the wider area.

BRLSI run Saturday workshops at the BRLSI building every month, aimed at children between 8 and 16 years old, and encourage young people to discover, explore and gets hands on experience of science, technology, engineering and the arts. BRLSI are passionate about learning being fun!

The workshops are organised in a caring and safe environment which gives children and young people across the Bath area an opportunity to practise study, research and presentation skills related to STEM. 

The Youth Activities programme also run school holiday family workshops and other outreach opportunities, including handling sessions with BRLSI collections and a family workshop on Dr Oliver and his biscuit coming up before Spring 2019. A physician responsible for founding the Royal Mineral hospital, his home was originally the site where the BRLSI building is today!

Accompanying the workshops this spring will be some additional events including participation in Bath Taps into Science and guided tours of BRLSI’s family trails which will be taking place through each weekend in February. 

Spaces are available for all workshops and bookings can be made through Bath Box office. BRLSI Saturday workshops are £10.00 per child, with family workshop tickets also £10.00. Guided tours cost £3.00 with coffee and a professionally printed trail leaflet included.
