Speaking up for the Parkside Centre.

Plans to demolish the Parkside Children’s Centre to make way for extra parking at the Charlotte Street Car Park are up for approval on the B&NES planning applications website where regular Roger Houghton has noticed…

“… that there is an objection to this application from Adrian Neilson, the Council’s Conservation Officer (see attachment). His reason is that:

“The building is a potential heritage asset and of local, community interest. This is in accordance with Policy HE1 of the Bath & North East Somerset Placemaking Plan and Section 12 of the NPPF.”

If you’re interested in saving this building, perhaps because you have a potential use in mind, I think it would be helpful if you were able to submit an objection on those grounds, suggesting how the building might be re-used for the benefit of the local community.

Emails can be sent to development_management@bathnes.gov.uk quoting the reference 18/04757/REG03.
