This has to be one of the most expensive ‘stocking-fillers’ available in Bath for this Christmas – and you’re going to have to knit a very big – and strong – stocking to put it in too!
The Holburne Museum is exhibiting a copy of ‘A Bigger Book‘, Taschen’s SUMO-sized David Hockney monograph which hovers – given the rate of exchange – around £2,250 a king-sized copy.
It’s one of a limited Collector’s Edition of 9,000 numbered copies – signed by the artist – which – at 498 pages – weighs in at 34 kg.
It does come with a Marc Newson bookstand and covers more than 60 years of work.
I am told they have been flying out of the Tate at the rate of ten a week – wonder if Bath can beat that!
