Behind the scenes.

A chance to look behind the scenes at a multi-million pound project to secure the unique floor of Bath Abbey is coming our way next month.

As part of Heritage Open Days people will be able to visit areas where the floor is being repaired and the memorial stones being conserved.

The tours will look at why there are so many memorial stones, why the floor is collapsing, their history, and how they are being repaired through the Footprint Project.

Bath Newseum has been talking to Dr Oliver Taylor – who is the Abbey’s Interpretation Officer – and asked how things are proceeding.

Tours will take place at 1400 and 1530 on Thursday, September 13th; 1000, 1130, 1400 and 1530 on Friday, September 14th and 1000, 1130, 1400 and 1530 on Saturday, September 15th.

There will be a maximum of 15 people per tour which will take around l hr and 15 mins to complete.
