Not any old iron!

Elsewhere on the site there is an interview explaining how Bath will benefit from the holding of a BathIRON festival next month.
Master blacksmiths from around the country are going to help give the bandstand in Parade Gardens a whole new look by forging new panels for the balustrade. One that will reflect its musical connections!

I have had an email from Niki Jewett who is organising publicity for the event. I am printing it in full.
“Thank you for the fantastic blog you wrote about Bath IRON along with your interview with Andy.  You really got a wonderful amount of interesting and useful detail in, really appreciated.
I gather you also came to the forge-in at the weekend. Hope you enjoyed your visit, maybe I’ll get the chance to meet you at the festival in June?

I wondered if your readers might be interested in the talks being held in the Guildhall throughout the festival from 14th – 17th June.
There are different talks throughout the 4 days these are:
Thursday 14th – A  seminar entitled Heritage Ironwork: An Endangered Species. There will be lots of heritage professionals but the public are totally welcome to attend.
Here is a link for booking tickets to the seminar on our website. https://nhig.org.uk/bathiron/nhig-seminar/seminar-tickets/
I have put an image of the programme for this below but have also attached a pdf of the programme so you have both.

Finally, we have talks for blacksmiths on the Saturday and Sunday.
The final programme of talks will be released next week and I can send to you. Even though these talks are aimed at blacksmiths and I know that Majister Huber from Austria will be screening his film The Devils Blacksmith on the Saturday. I will send a complete programme next week once we have it.

It would be great if you could include any of this in your news/events or perhaps just a follow up on the festival?

Very best wishes again and thank you in advance for your time. “
