A couple of changes underway in the layout of Bath’s award-winning Parade Gardens where a flower bed near the loos has been turfed over to create a bigger space for the Spring Fayre being held there on Saturday and Sunday, May 12th and 13th from 11am to 5pm each day.

A B&NES insider told Bath Newseum:

“We are also putting in a new bed, wrapping around the Monks Mill (ruin) on its sunny sides.

All that’s left of the Monk’s Mill behind the flower bed that has now been grassed over.

This will be planted with herbaceous plants, giving summer-round colour and adding interest to the Monks Mill, creating a walled garden effect.

In addition, we are planting a Union Flag flower bed, which will take pride of place in Parade Gardens.

All of these improvements will be completed in time for the Spring Fair, and to enhance the enjoyment of Parade Gardens for all who visit.”

  1. Fewer floral displays around Bath than in recent years. The stands in Marlborough Buildings are just full of weeds, for example. A topic for another post?
