The West of England Combined Authority and Local Enterprise Partnership team will move to 3 Rivergate, near Temple Meads in Bristol, in September.
The lease on the offices it currently uses at the Engine Shed is coming to an end, with projects and small businesses already queuing up to take that space.
Patricia Greer, Interim chief executive of the West of England Combined Authority, said: “We’ve known for some time that we have to move as we need to free up space intended for innovation activity at Engine Shed. This move will allow us to bring together key functions of the Combined Authority in one place for the first time. Our offices will also be within the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone, a key regeneration area, and home to a number of innovative businesses.
“Devolution is bringing decision-making away from London to our region, providing us with the ability to unlock opportunities / funding at a scale not seen before.
The Combined Authority team will work in partnership with others to ensure local people benefit from more job opportunities, a stronger economy and higher quality of life for all.
“The West of England Combined Authority will be lean and efficient, and will make the most of existing resources, avoiding duplication of efforts.”
Nick Sturge, Director of Engine Shed, said: “It has been a pleasure hosting the LEP and the new Combined Authority in Engine Shed for the embryonic years or month of their respective lives. They have been an asset to the project and the ecosystem we strive to develop and very pleased that our environment has been a helpful one. We are pleased that the team will remain partners of Engine Shed as our newest Business Lounge member.”
