Open for Christmas business

Well the tree is up in Abbey Church Yard and a fine specimen – complete with real pine cones.

This year B&NES put in a proper base so guy ropes are no longer needed to keep the fir in place. Health and safety don’t you know.

Best tree in years! A fine fir in place in Abbey Church Yard.

In amongst our 170-odd Christmas Market huts – spread around Bath Abbey and down into York & Bath Streets and Abbey Green – traders are set up and selling.

York Street traders getting ready.

Things look pretty much the same as last year but do have a look at the market website. There are also carols in and out Bath Abbey, seasonal buskers and plenty of festive decoration and colour.

Ceramicist Rupert Blamire is a regular trader each year under the shadow of Bath Abbey.

The Abbey Hotel is still awaiting the return of their snow globe but have got their  apres-ski chalet up and decorated. Thank goodness someone is doing something for the children (and adults of course)!

The apres-ski bar almost ready for business outside the Abbey Hotel.
