New Destructor bridge still not completely ‘docked’.

My thanks to Chris Rogers for two lovely shots of the new Destructor Bridge which finally spans the River Avon down at Western Riverside, as part of the new Crest Nicholson Development.

The new structure will link the site with Upper Bristol Road – providing access for cars, cyclists, and pedestrians.

The new bridge now spans the River Avon at Western Riverside.
There were problems pushing the prefabricated bridge out over the water  and now – it seems – they must be making some adjustments before it is finally lowered into place.

Christ sent me the photos in an email in which he said:

‘On a cycle ride to Bath this afternoon I stopped to see what progress had been made.

 It looks to be in place horizontally but still supported above the final height.

I’ve attached a couple of photos which you would be welcome to use if you thought they might be of interest.
