True grit on the towpath.

Despite the poor weather, contractors are progressing very well with the resurfacing of the towpath -running beside the Kennet and Avon Canal – from the George Inn at Bathampton through to the first tunnel into Sydney Gardens.

Most of the tarmac has now been covered with its top coat of grit – which will gradually bed down into the path to give a firm and smooth way into town for pedestrians and cyclists – without the mud and water-filled potholes that have plagued this safer route into the city.

Seems it’s ok to get out there and use it now. It’s the way l cycled home to Larkhall.
