He’s done many things in his life – ex-Mayor, local councillor, broadcaster, musician – now Bryan Chalker – Bath’s once official ( and still unofficial!) heritage champion has sent me his own David Bowie memory.
‘I thought you might find this amusing – David Bowie and yours truly at the same folk gig circa 1973 in the Three Tuns pub, Beckenham, Kent. I am seated to the left near the window. We both used the pub’s rear function for rehearsals on occasions, as we both lived in Beckenham at that time. I think the only conversation we had related to my old 1934 Morris 10.’

Meanwhile, Bryan says he is busy organising a makeover ‘of the 1904 Stothert & Pitt steam crane at Bath’s Western Riverside and will keep you informed. We hope to get the work done by the end of March.’
