Young musicians from across Bath and North East Somerset are being given the opportunity to improve their skills.
The Bath & North East Somerset Music Hub is offering novice and experienced musicians the chance to take part in music ensembles, lessons and clubs at its Music Centres across the district.
Supported by Bath & North East Somerset Council, the Hub holds sessions in Keynsham, Bath and Midsomer Norton. It has places for more than 400 pupils to take part in contemporary music groups, choirs, rock bands, orchestras, wind bands and instrumental groups. Clubs are also available for 4 – 11-year-olds and there are opportunities to take part in residential courses and tours abroad.
Cllr Michael Evans (Conservative, Midsomer Norton North) Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “Whether just starting out or accomplished performers, these sessions are a really good opportunity for young musicians to extend their skills, meet other musicians and have fun. From modern to classical, there’s something to suit everyone’s musical tastes.”
Discounted rates are available for new pupils joining the sessions, and pupils who receive free school meals can take part free of charge.
