In the swim

Swimming costumes from the last 200 years are going to be paraded down a Green Park Station catwalk at a special fund-raising and awareness event being organised by the Cleveland Pools Trust.

What better way of celebrating two hundred years of bathing in Bath. The Cleveland Pools include the only Georgian open air swimming pool in existence.

The pool opened in 1815 and – until 1984 – Bathonians and visitors  to the city continued to enjoy swimming there.

Now – with HLF funding – looks like the complex is on the way to being restored and this fashion event is there to raise money towards the match-funding that will be needed.

The event is being held – at Green {Park Station – on Saturday, May the 9th with entry from 6.30 pm. Tickets are £5 with concessions. You can get them from Bath Box Office in Abbey Courtyard.

Refreshments on sale will include a drinks bar and barbecue hosted by Green Park Brasserie and ice cream from a fabulous vintage Humphry van.

On top of this there will be a raffle, a peep board photography booth, picture and video slide shows and lots more.

The event is being run by Jenny Brown and co-students from Bath Spa University – some of whom are aspiring models. The catwalk show is from 7pm to 8.30pm with a break in the middle for refreshments.
