The Bath-based American Museum is about to appoint an important new member of staff.

By the time the unique attraction at Claverton Manor reopens for the 2015 season – on March 14th – a new head gardener will have taken up his or her duties.
If all goes well and funds are available they will help oversee another large part of the extensive 125 acre estate being developed into a new American garden.
While this will add to the external attractions the Museum’s Director, Dr Richard Wendorf, has assured the Virtual Museum that nothing will spoil the open countryside view.

Dr Wendorf took time to talk about plans for the garden and also new exhibitions planned for this year.
Speaking over refreshments at the Bath MacDonald Spa Hotel he was also pleased to announce a very successful 2014 season for what is the only museum of decorative and folk art outside the United States.
