It’s the new art installation that everyone in Bath is talking about and that – it seems – is the whole idea behind erecting it in the middle of a Bath roundabout flower bed. The Bathwick Hill ‘sun flower’ – a 4m high and 4 m wide iron sculpture – has been made in the Larkhall workshop of Ironart and is the vision of Andy Thearle who owns and runs the company.

On the company website – www.ironart.co.uk – he says: ‘ It’s for sale! We are looking for a private or business backer to buy this sculpture and ideally secure it for a venue in the beautiful city of Bath in perpetuity.’
He even gives his telephone number – 01225 311273 – for someone who might like ‘ to leave a permanent legacy for the city, or have a business that would benefit from this high-profile branding.’
The ‘Sun Flower’ now graces the roundabout at the bottom of Bathwick Hill outside St Mary the Virgin church.
