Great to see this notice board – at the entrance to Parade Gardens -tidied up again.
It now bears information about facilities and opening times.
I was quick to criticise the board’s former appearance with a poster slumped in a corner of its locked and glass-covered frame.
While that has been removed it has also taken away the interesting information printed upon it.

That original poster told the history of this flower-filled parkland and explained a little of the features it contains.
Now it is gone and with it – the gardens reason-for-being.

The information put things in context and helped visitors to this city – crammed with history and heritage – appreciate a little of the past as well as the present.
Bring it back and please put it somewhere so people can read it.
