Well l have no idea what the weather forecast is for the rest of Bath but l do know it’s going to snow in Bath Street on Thursday, November 28th – the first night of this year’s Christmas Market.

One hundred and fifty-five wooden chalets are being erected for an event which helps raise millions of festive pounds within the city economy.

Of course some chalet sites are not as close to Bath Abbey as others and so it does help if you can provide an additional attraction to ensure shoppers visit the more outlying retail attractions.

That’s where snow and Bath Street come together.

There will even be icicles on the roofs.

It’s already an attractive colonnaded avenue – linking the Pump Room and Roman Baths with the Thermae Spa – but to make sure people don’t miss it – all the chalets there are being covered in a snow-effect coating and a snow-making machine will be on duty to add even more of a seasonal atmosphere.

Look out for the icicles on the pine-pitched roofs too!

The whole event is being promoted by Bath Tourism Plus and the Virtual Museum has been talking to Nick Brooks-Sykes – its Chief Executive.
