Not the best of weathers for Bath to enjoy its annual summer carnival but well done to all those who showed true grit in braving wind and rain – and with a smile on their faces too.
Took a while to get things moving – as people gathered at the Holbourne Museum end – but samba drummers were soon warming the blood with their rhythmic beat.
While the carnival Rio-styled girls in feathers – and not much more – did their best to get it racing!
Leading the procession was a red tourist bus playing a different role today.

Bath used to have a marvellous carnival with big floats, which all gathered up in Vicky Park before coming down through town. I can’t remember where it finished – I should because I was in it a couple of times! The council stopped it in the late 80s for some reason which now eludes me. A great shame.
