Good to see the hanging flower baskets – dislodged when the old Habitat store was boarded up a couple of days ago – have now been put back on view a little higher up the building!

We can admire the blooms while we wait to hear who is going into the old store.

Meanwhile who can tell me more about the wonderful little heads that have been embedded in the high retaining wall in Walcot Street.

I recognise the Natural Theatre’s ‘Cone head” character but would love to know more. They join three ‘ancient’ heads previously embedded.

Are they left-overs from the Walcot Festival? Anyone help me?

Sorry to end on a sour note. In Westgate and on Great Pulteney Street lie scattered the contents of cheap black plastic bags left out for the birds to attack.

When  will B&NES get really tough on this. It’s a lovely way of greeting our oh-so-valuable tourists!
