Seems Pulteney Weir protestor Charlie Dancey has persuaded some more friends to join him in creating a bit of a flotilla in one of the city’s most iconic settings.
This was the scene as l walked home last night. CHarlie is protesting at what he says is the lack of care in protecting the old Newark Works – former home of Stothert and Pitt who were crane builders to the world!
Charlie wants the site handed over to the community while Bath and North Somerset Council have said the works will be included in their development plans for the area.
Charlie has been on or around the Weir in his Dutch barge Northern Sun for two weeks now without – he says – any offer from the Council to meet him.
