Pix of the day. Saturday, April 11th

Visuals supplied by a ‘regular Gravel Path walker’ who sent the following email:

‘Two eye-catching ‘seasonal’ Spring views today of the Gravel Walk!’

Hopefully, they’ll tidy that patch after whatever work is being done is completed.

  1. Great to see the flowers on the Gravel Walk but there rest is a disaster and practically all visitors get to walk there – where’s the gravel?

  2. When oh when will we get the gravel restored to Gravel Walk? I requested this on B&NES Fix My street over a year ago.

  3. The Gravel Walk has deteriorated over many years. Mainly I understand caused by residents of Brock St & the Circus using it as access for builders and renovation work. There is hardly any gravel left now. If granting permission for residents to use the area it should be photographed before, and returned to the original condition. When I first lived in Bath in the 1980’s no body used the Gravel Walk in this way, which is when it last looked pristine. It is a public open space not a parking lot or area to store building material.
Why is there a trailer holding lavatories parked at the beginning of the Gravel Walk below the Royal Crescent?

  4. if the council don’t have funding to pay for gravel renewal, they should raise it by charging the residents of Brock St/Circus/Gay St a day or weekly permit fee for vehicular access.

  5. Walking home from the Farmers’ Market I much appreciate the gardens adjoining Gravel Walk which have been nicely planted – especially as they aren’t really visible from the houses that maintain them. But as well as the loss of gravel, there are deep muddy ruts along parts of Gravel Walk that shouldn’t be there.
