By popular request l hear the Odd Down History Group are going to show The Titfield Thunderbolt movie – the 1953 British comedy that was filmed primarily near Bath – using the disused Camerton branch line ( part of the Bristol and North Somerset Railway) for train scenes.
Monkton Combe Halt became the fictional Titfield Station, while the village scenes were shot in Freshford.
Key locations included the Midford Viaduct, Dunkerton Colliery and the village of Carlingcott.
The showing takes place on Thursday, April 2nd, at Odd Down Football Club in Combe Hay Lane.
It is free to enter, but you are asked to buy drinks and snacks with rolls also available.
