A night at the (Roman Baths) Opera !

Opera may not be to everyone’s taste. Certainly, it’s not on Hollywood actor Timothe Chalamet’s list of things that please him, but as an art form, it certainly has its own’ tribe’ of followers.

Last night we joined 200 other people to enjoy performances by some up-and-coming operatic talent in the atmospheric surroundings of the city’s Roman Baths and Georgian Pump Room.

Ahucan Buyukanli – opera singer and undergraduate studying engineering at the University of Bath. She was also the organiser of last night’s event.

It was an inaugural concert by an organisation called ARYA – the Association for Rising Young Artists – which is setting out to connect young talented singers around the country and beyond, and give them an opportunity to come together and perform.

Last night’s first such event was certainly a special occasion to dress up for!
