Do you remember that a while back l told you Network Rail had finally come around to applying for planning permission to restore Brunel’s last remaining pedestrian bridge over the London line that he personally designed.

It’s in Sydney Gardens and the only question remaining was what colour it would be painted.
Thanks to my friend Emily at Network Rail l have the following information.
‘In terms of the bridge, I’ve been sent an image which gives an idea of what it will look like after it has been repainted. The contractor has said that the colours don’t display on the screen quite like they would in real life, so it won’t be the exact shades you see but it will be close. They’ve informed me that it will be restored to its original appearance – for GWR that would be brown and cream.’
So now we do know.
How I wish that GWR would follow this and repaint their trains in the traditional cream and brown, rather than the dreary green and grey used currently
