I know the gritter lorries have been hard at work on our highways during this cold spell, but a word of praise for the council employees like this one, who yesterday morning were out salting city centre pavements.
I had earlier helped one lady get back on her feet after a fall on a patch of ice.
It helped our hard-pressed shop and cafe owners too – ensuring safe access for customers.
Yes, it’s good to see some help for pedestrians as well as motorists. Saves me walking in the road which is what I do if the pavements are treacherous.
