[David Crellin from the History of Bath Research Group needs your help]
The man pictured above is David Crellin, who is the Secretary of the History of Bath Research Group.
David and l have crossed paths several times at St Mary’s Church in Upper Swainswick, where he revealed – back in 1923 – the first accredited images of John Wood Senior and Junior, the famous architects of Bath’s Georgian showpieces who are buried in the church.
He’s after help now on a different piece of historical research. He has sent me a press clipping and writes:

” I’m not sure if you would be interested, but I am writing a biography of this fascinating lady. I have attached a copy of her Obit in the Chronicle in 1949.
The reason I am contacting you is that it is just possible that there could be people who might remember her as a child in her bible classes, which continued till 1948, according to this article.
It’s a long shot, but I wondered if you might call out to see if anyone remembers her.
She was very active in Twerton for most of her life, as you will see. There is also the costume hire business, which may have continued after her death and might also be remembered.”
If anyone can help, do let me know and l will put you in touch with David.
