Calling all choirs

[The ‘Handful of Singers Choir’ performing in Aix last year]

More good wishes have come in from Marian McNeir MBE, an ex-Mayor of our city who also happens to be Chair of the Bath – Aix-en-Provence Twinning Association.

Aside from wishing me better health, she asked to pass on an invitation to any choir or musical group who might like to perform in the annual Jumelages ( Twinning ) Music Festival on 15 and 16 May in Aix.

Marian tells me:

“Bath has been twinned with Aix for nearly 50 years, and there have been many musical exchanges during this time.

For the past few years, Aix has very generously paid for 2 nights’ accommodation in a hotel in the city for up to 24 performers who will give two concerts with other international choirs.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to visit our beautiful twin city in the south of France and to share the fantastic experience of performing with a choir from one of Aix’s other Twin cities.

Last year, the well-known Bath choir, “ A Handful of Singers “, delighted Aix audiences and, before them, The Camerata Choir, The Paragon Singers, The Bach Choir and the Ukulele Band of Bath, along with many others.
