  2. It actually is the Old Post Office, it’s inscribed into the stone above the windows. I’m not sure when it closed. If you look on street view of google maps you’ll see it before the scaffolding covered it.

    1. I believe it closed when the ‘Head Post Office’ was relocated to the new building in Northgate Street – possibly around 1927 when a sub office in New Bond Street closed. To further complicate matters, the original Head Post Office was in Broad Street before moving to larger premises in George Street.
