What’s your label?

Have you got the bottle?

The Museum of Bath at Work are calling all budding creatives to get involved in an exciting new competition!

They are looking for those who live or work in Bath to get out their art materials and design a label for a fizzy drink, based on examples of Victorian bottle labels used by J B Bowler & Sons!

Bowlers was a factory based in Corn Street, Bath, and between the 1870s and 1960s, the firm supplied practically anything to the industries of Bath, from nuts and bolts to fittings and brass works.

The business also included a soft drinks making works supplying amazing fizzy drinks with flavours like Bitter Lemon, Orange, Ginger and Cherry. Across Bath people enjoyed his drinks like Orange Champagne, the spicy Hot Tom, and the refreshing Bath Punch!

The competition will run from the 12th of April to the 10th of August 2025, and the prize for the winner will be:

  • A lifetime membership to the Museum for them and their immediate family.
  • VIP passes to five Museum events (like movie nights, fun activities, and special events)
  • The design to be pride of place in the ‘Bath Bottled’ exhibition! This is due to open in late August 2025.

To enter, download an inspiration pack from the Museum of Bath at Work’s website.

The museum would like to include submitted designs in an exhibition to follow the competition in the Autumn of 2025.
